Egill Sæbjörnsson
Salon Dahlmann
13.09–26.11.2016
insitu collective presents Icelandic artist Egill Sæbjörnsson’s site-specific work »Timebridge« at the Concierge-room of Salon Dahlmann. The installation makes the concept of time physically and mentally tangible for the audience: how can we imagine 500 years in the future or 1000 years in the past?
»Timebridge« is the prelude to insitu collective's three exhibition cycle dealing with the potential of time travel. Described as Corridors, each exhibition takes visitors on an unfolding narrative into a significant moment related to scientific discoveries or notorious events in history. The cycle also includes »Corridor 1: Onkalo« »Corridor 2: Pachamama« and »Corridor 3: Valdemar Daa«
Egill Sæbjörnsson (born 1973 in Iceland) lives and works in Berlin. He is represented by i8 Gallery in Reykjavik and Hopstreet Gallery in Brussels. Sæbjörnsson representented Iceland in the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017.
With kind support of the Embassy of Iceland in Germany.
